Introduction to RUSHMOVER

The Automha Rushmover System is a high-speed automated pallet transportation system. Primarily used in conjunction with Automha’s high density fully automated storage system, the Rushmover is also commonly used to transport pallets & loads throughout the manufacturing and/or distribution facility.

Rushmover costs are considerably lower in comparison to conventional automated storage systems.

Rushmover comprises of 3 main components.

  • Rushmover carts
  • Rushmover track (loop), c/w busbar providing continuous power to the Rushmover carts
  • AMMS to ensure correct pallet movement and to record inventory and pallet movement

The Rushmover carts travel independently along and around the predesigned Rushmover track, commonly known as the “loop.” Carts transport pallets/loads throughout the “loop,” stopping at predetermined points for drop off and pick up or box/piece picking.

The “Loop” is an extruded aluminum rail designed for the Rushmover carts. Integrated into the side of the rail is a 480V bus bar that provides continuous to the Rushmover carts. Carts travel the loop at high speed, with speed being automatically adjusted based on the amount of traffic (carts) running within the loop at any given time.

Each Rushmover system is designed for the specific requirements and the facility layout. The loop can be laid out with curves and turns to meet each unique requirement.

One of the large benefits is negotiating flexible routes over long distances at a lower cost and with less maintenance than other, more traditional methods. Whether moving product from production lines, receiving docks, or to and from layer picking systems, product movement to and from areas of your facility can be automated.

Furthermore, the Rushmover is truly a scalable system. It allows for the increase of additional shuttles over time to meet your changing throughput requirements. Suppose you are designing a new system based on future growth. In that case, you have the ability to purchase only the initial number of shuttles needed to meet your immediate demands and then add additional units later to match your future throughput requirements.

Throughput requirements can vary throughout the day, especially in a 24-hour-a-day operation. Rushmover can be designed to have “parking spaces” for carts not required during off-peak hours, reducing overall power consumption while enabling carts in use to optimize speed.

The Advantages of Rushmover:

  • Ability to move product to distinct designated staging lanes in the Shipping area and sequence by order
  • Includes gantry accessed maintenance area that can remove (1) cart at a time and allow the remainder of the system to continue to operate
  • Can be configured to handle your unique plant layout, including to act as a delivery system working on the floor or a mezzanine moving product from one building to another
  • Operational costs are lower in comparison to conventional automatic storage systems.
